FROM AN EMPTY HEART TO AN OVERFLOW OF GOD’S LOVE

A Testimony of Encounter, Healing, and Transformation

Last Sunday, I came to St. Francis Catholic Church, Kasarani, carrying an emptiness that words could hardly express. I had walked through a long season of challenges that had gradually hardened my heart. Deep within me, something had grown weary, wounded, and closed off. I came to church, but I never imagined that I would encounter God in such a deeply personal and life-changing way.

As Silas Kiriinya taught about the Eucharist, something began to happen within me. It was as though a door that had been locked for a long time was slowly opening. I felt my heart softening, my chest physically pounding, and tears began to flow uncontrollably. Something deep within me was being touched by the presence of God.

Then came the moment of prayer.

I had the opportunity to pray with Silas, and as he prayed over me, I experienced an overwhelming encounter with God’s presence. My whole body became weak, yet deep within me, my spirit felt strengthened. It was not as though I was being physically shaken like an earthquake; rather, I felt completely overcome by a presence far greater than myself. It was as though my human strength was giving way to the work of the Holy Spirit.

What I experienced was more than an emotional moment. It was a profound encounter with the Father’s love, made real to me in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit.

Where there had been emptiness, I began to experience fullness. Where there had been heaviness, I experienced peace. Where my heart had become hard, love began to flow again. Faith was rekindled. Clarity emerged. Joy returned. I experienced a renewed sense of freedom, spiritual strength, and a love that went beyond anything I could manufacture by my own effort.

In that moment, I came to understand these words of Scripture in a deeply personal way:

“God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.” — Romans 5:5

These words were no longer merely something I had read or heard. They became a living reality in my heart. I experienced a deep overflow of God’s presence, and something within me began to change.

Since that encounter, my life has changed profoundly. I have experienced growth, renewed faith, greater clarity, deeper peace, and a fresh awareness of God’s love at work within me. What began as a Sunday of emptiness became a turning point in my spiritual journey.

I went to church carrying the weight of my challenges, but I encountered the love of a Father who meets us in our brokenness, restores our hearts, and reminds us that we are never beyond His reach.

I am deeply grateful for what God has done in me. All glory, honour, and praise belong to Him alone. I thank Him for using Silas as an instrument through whom I encountered His love in such a powerful way.

Glory to God Most High!

The Father’s love is real. Jesus is alive. The Holy Spirit is at work, and a heart that has grown hard can become tender again in the presence of God.

To God alone be the glory! 🙏
