There is no pain quite like the silence of a child you love.
For over a year, my daughter would not speak to me. She had blocked both her sister and me, and no matter how much I longed to hear her voice, there was only silence. As a mother, I carried questions that had no answers. I wondered if I would ever hold her again, if our relationship would ever be restored, or if this painful distance would become our new reality.
In November last year, I reached out for prayer. Brother Silas listened patiently as I poured out the burden I had carried for so long. He encouraged me not to give in to despair but to entrust my daughter completely to God. He advised me to pray the Novena to St. Anthony of Padua and then to attend the VRC Night Vigil at the end of November. I held onto those words with faith, even though I could not yet see how God would answer.
Then, just a few weeks later, something happened that I will never forget. On the 22nd of December, my phone rang.
It was my daughter.
After more than a year of silence, I heard her voice again. She apologized for everything. Tears filled my eyes as I realized that God had begun to do what I could never have accomplished on my own. It was the answer to countless prayers whispered through many sleepless nights.
Although she became quiet again for a short time, God was not finished writing our story. she at least confined with me that she had a baby- my grand child: The hardest part was knowing she had given birth to my grandchild. I would occasionally receive a “view once” photo of the baby, an image that disappeared almost as quickly as it arrived. I could see my grandchild, but I could not embrace either of them. Every picture was both a gift and a reminder of everything I was missing. My heart ached with every passing day.
In February, she came home with my grandchild. That visit marked the beginning of a beautiful restoration. Today, we are in constant communication. The relationship that once seemed broken beyond repair has been rebuilt by God’s loving hands. Instead of disappearing photos, she now video-calls me almost every day. I get to watch my grandchild grow, hear their laughter, and share in the ordinary moments I once feared I would never experience.
But God’s restoration did not stop there.
My daughter has returned to university to complete the four units she had left unfinished since 2019. She is also taking German classes, and I have had the joy of supporting her in this new season of hope and purpose. Watching her move forward with confidence has been another reminder that when God restores, He does not simply repair what was broken He breathes new life into it.
Looking back, I see that God was working even when all I could see was silence. While I was grieving, He was healing. While I was waiting, He was preparing the way home.
Today, my heart overflows with gratitude. What was once a story of tears has become a testimony of reconciliation, healing, and hope. The God who hears the cries of a mother’s heart has proven Himself faithful beyond anything I could have imagined.
Thank you, Brother Silas, for your counsel and prayers. Above all, thank You, Abba Father, for restoring what seemed lost and for reminding me that no distance is too great, no heart is too far, and no relationship is beyond Your redeeming love.
To God alone be all the glory.

praise Jesus.
This has encouraged me not to give up on praying about several issues in my life that seem to take too long before God answering them.
Aaw!, glory be to God,we can only experience God’s saving power the moment we allow to do it at His opportune time.
Lord Jesus l surrender to your devine will in my life
Amen. This has really encouraged me to keep praying for my cousin who has also gone silent on his parents for several months now.
